Cosmetic Alchemist: A Little Bit of Magic
The hair sorceress herself, Miss Rachael Ann was fortuitous when she chose the name Cosmetic Alchemist. After working as a craft hairdresser in Portland, Oregon, she began dabbling in creating her own natural lip balms, which she infuses some good old fashioned spellwork into.
Crafting magic
Each batch of lip balm is created using distilled water that has been charged by the energy from the full moon. The balms are then infused with essential oils to compliment the sign of the zodiac in which the moon is passing through.
After sampling some of Rachael’s luxurious-feeling balms, I wanted to help support her and offered to create a label design for them. Working collaboratively, and finding exactly the right combination of elements, we came up with a design that conveys the magical qualities of these handcrafted lip balms.
Simple elegance
Each design features a swirling script and the symbol for the zodiac under which full moon they were charged.
The labels are black and white allowing for the beauty in the craft of the lip balms to speak for themselves.
